Appointed by the European Commission, Ars Electronica, BOZAR and Waag Society are launching a prize to select the most pioneering collaborations and results in the field of creativity and innovation at the crossings of science and technology with the arts. This follows the launch of a new activity in the European Commission named STARTS: Innovation at the nexus of Science, Technology, and the ARTS.
The STARTS prize (standing for Science, Technology and Arts) is awarded every year to projects at the cutting edge of Europe’s creative and cultural sectors.
Two prizes are awarded with €20,000 in prize money. There are two categories:
Grand Prize—Artistic Exploration
Grand Prize—Innovative Collaboration
Last year’s winners were Artificial Skins and Bones for Innovative Collaboration and Magnetic Motion for Artistic Exploration.
If you think that your project might be in with a chance, make sure to get your application in by 3 March.
The STARTS prize is organised by Ars Electronica, in collaboration with BOZAR and Waag Society, on behalf of the European Commission.
