Natalie Jeremijenko, artist-engineer, philosopher-activist, “thingker,” invites participation in re-imagining and redesigning our collective relationship to natural and technical systems.
This survey of her work includes grassroots mapping of the BP Oil Spill, information-space from the Bureau of Inverse Technology, robotic geese, a bat translator, networked greenlights, auxiliary wings and an edible gallery guide.
Jeremijenko has participated in exhibitions at the Whitney Museum of American Art, The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art, Documentain Kassel, Germany, and has been a Rockefeller Fellow.
She is currently a Professor of Visual Art at New York University and a Visiting Professor at the Royal College of Art in London.
The exhibition was curated by Jacqueline Shilkoff, Neuberger Museum Associate Curator for New Media and the Digital
Museum.
